Facts Check News: Many messages in the social floated with the fake information of the deteriorated health of Finance Minister Arun Jaitley’s health, many claiming even to circulate it as death news. Posts on Facebook, WhatsApp also claimed that Jaitley had died.
The news went to such an extent that the government came forward to verify the fake news in the social media.
Sitanshu Kar, Principal Spokesperson, Government of India & Principal Director General of Press Information Bureau, tweeted “Reports in a section of media regarding Union Minister Shri Arun Jaitley’s health condition are false and baseless. Media is advised to stay clear of rumour mongering.”

There were many messages tweeted after Swapan Dasgupta, BJP Rajya Sabha MP also posted a photo of Arun Jaitly on twitter. People who have seen Jaitly earliar and now, easily found the difference and suspected of his bad health. Dasgupta wrote “

Economic times published news on Arun Jaitley on May 23, 2019 titled “Arun Jaitley discharged from AIIMS”. It further said, Jaitley, 66, has not been attending office for about three weeks now and was admitted to AIIMS for undergoing tests and treatment for an undisclosed illness.
