Claim:  It is being claimed in a #WhatsApp message that Pregnant women cannot get vaccinated. 

Social Media Viral: News shared on social media claiming that covid vaccine is not safe for pregnant women.  

Pib Fact Check Verification: On June 21, 2021, the Indian government most people in India 18 years and older became eligible to receive a COVID-19 vaccine for free—but that still doesn’t include women who are pregnant.

However on Jun 26, Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) Director-General Dr Balram Bhargava said, “The health ministry has given guidelines that the vaccine can be given to pregnant woman."

The move comes few weeks after the World Health Organisation (WHO) recommended vaccination in pregnant women when the benefits of vaccination outweigh the potential risks
